The series of sessions – delivered at the Building Centre in London – will provide HVAC professionals with cutting-edge guidance on how to tackle the challenges of pipework innovation and energy efficiency installation.
Four key areas will be covered:
- Pipework specifications
- Introduction to galvanic corrosion
- Pipework BIM and VR
- Pipework installation issues
BISPA (the Building and Industrial Services Pipework Academy) – based at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ – was launched in 2016 in partnership with Tata Steel.
It offers a range of training opportunities for the building and industrial services sector, focusing on BIM and pipework systems.
Dr Mahroo Eftekhari, BISPA Director, explains the significance of the Academy and the training on offer: “Our discussions with companies revealed a need for practical training that disseminated the latest thinking around efficient and cost-effective HVAC systems.
“Partnering with CIBSE and Tata Steel gave us the opportunity to launch a training centre that shares the latest innovations in a hands-on, accessible way that can help the building industry reduce carbon emissions in line with Government targets.”
To date more than 100 students and sales engineers from a range of companies – including Tata Steel, Geberit, Pipe Center and BSS – have successfully completed BISPA’s training programmes.
Dr Chris Owen of Tata Steel, says: "BISPA is a perfect example of academia and industry working together. At a time when the industry is experiencing a skills shortage, the Academy proactively encourages the professional development of building services engineers, improving awareness of BIM and pipework innovations."
