º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ launches new University Management and Leadership programme

A new programme designed to develop ambitious graduates for leadership and management roles in higher education has been launched by º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ.

The University Management and Leadership programme is open to new or recent º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ graduates and existing employees of the University that meet the criteria.

The three-year-long course will see successful applicants complete a series of nine-month placements across different areas of the University’s Professional Services.

From working in Marketing and Advancement to undertaking a position in Human Resources, the programme will enable trainees to experience a variety of roles and learn what it takes to run a high-achieving university.

Upon completing the course, they should be eligible and well-suited to apply for permanent roles at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ or other universities.

Richard Taylor, the University’s Chief Operating Officer, commented: “This exciting programme is designed to develop individuals for roles in higher education leadership and management.

“Placements are designed to inspire and stretch trainees to reach their potential and build upon our reputation as a top 10 university.

“We’re looking for ambitious individuals with an interest in working for an organisation, that aim to: educate winners, invest in our staff, grow capacity and influence, and continue to raise our standards and aspirations.”

The vast majority of the placements will be in º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, but some may be at the University’s London campus.

Mark Chester, who works in the Finance Office, is a graduate employee. He said: “The University is a fantastic place to work. It is a much bigger operation than I ever imagined as a student and that means the opportunities for work and development are so varied.

“I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending working at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ. Sometimes the best opportunities are on your doorstep.”

More information on the º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Graduate Programme and how to apply can be found on the dedicated webpage.

The closing date for applications is Wednesday 14 March. Successful applicants will begin the programme in September 2018.
