The 2018 Spring/Summer programme gives staff, students and members of the public a glimpse of some of the diverse music, arts, film and comedy events taking place at the University over the coming months.
Brochure highlights include:
- A concert with the renowned Choir of Clare College, Cambridge, on Saturday 10 March.
- Robin Ince’s first new stand-up show in three years; ‘Pragmatic Insanity’ on Wednesday 9 May.
- Three exciting National Theatre Live events – Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (22 February), Julius Caesar (22 March) and Macbeth (10 May) – which will bring world-class performances to º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ.
- Battleship Potemkin (1925) with Matthew Trusler and Ashley Wass on Wednesday 30 May – a unique opportunity to see one of the most famous silent films accompanied by talented classical musicians.
- Plus Maddy Prior in Concert with Giles Lewin and Hannah James on Wednesday 18 April. The trio will perform songs from their albums and highlights from Maddy’s impressive solo and band career.
A mix of talks, discussions and music events will also be taking place as part of (re)composition – Radar’s commissioning programme for 2017/18.
Radar is LU Arts’ contemporary arts programme that engages with academic research. The (re)composition project sees Radar working with academics from the Department of Geography to explore how music makes place, and place makes music.
