Every year the National Student Fundraising Conference celebrates the work of student fundraising groups nationwide and awards a variety of accolades to teams and individuals that have gone above and beyond to support good causes.
º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Rag – the fundraising and charity section of the Students’ Union, which, for the past nine years, has raised more than £1m for charity – has been put forward for four ‘National Student Fundraising Awards’.
It has been shortlisted in the Best Local Impact Project, Event of the Year, Campaign of the Year and Outstanding Contribution to Student Fundraising categories.
‘Halls Do Balls’ has been shortlisted for the Best Local Impact Project; the fundraiser saw hall committees come together in November to raise almost £5,500 for the Movember Foundation by embracing the moustache and hosting a variety of activities.
The Rag Beer Keller has been recognised in the Event of the Year category and Heart 2 Heart – the Valentine’s Day event led by º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Students’ Union and the British Heart Foundation that trained more than 1,000 people in CPR – has been nominated for Campaign of the Year.
Ellie Glock has had her exceptional commitment to Rag recognised by being shortlisted for the Outstanding Contribution to Student Fundraising Award.
In the four years Ellie has volunteered with Rag, she has raised almost £25,200 during raids and has been a hall representative, a raids officer, a two-time Rag committee member and the Alumni Officer.
The winners of this year’s National Student Fundraising Awards will be announced at the 2018 Conference which is being held at the University of West England from 20-23 August.
