Throughout the year, he will lead workshops, poetry walks and readings of both his work and pieces written by visitors.
Kerry said “I know that Bradgate Park is a favourite place for lots of people in the region; I love going there as well. This is a chance to bring poetry to the park, and to encourage people to get creative in their response to the natural world, and their own memories.”
Carolyn Holmes, Development Manager at Bradgate Park, said the project would give members of the public the chance to write about the park, and its history and wildlife.
Visitors’ writings about the park can be shared and exhibited on a new blog page. The Leicester Forest Photographic Society will be supplying the blog with images of Bradgate Park.
The first workshop will take place on Wednesday 6 December, from 10am until 12pm. The focus will be on exploring some of the landscape (seasonal weather permitting) and thinking about the approach of winter.
No experience of writing is required and everyone is welcome. Places are free but limited - please see the Bradgate Park website for booking details.
