Speaking about the awareness day, Professor Eef Hogervorst from the Dementia Research Group said: “This event will be a great opportunity for people to meet others affected by dementia, as well as organisations working within this area. There will also be lots of practical and informative sessions to take part in.
“At the University there is a huge body of research taking place into dementia, and this event will give us a great opportunity to share this work and discuss future projects.”

Robin Brisbourne from Alzheimer’s Research UK, said: “There are around 850,000 people in the UK living with dementia, including over 6000 in the East Midlands alone. As large as these numbers are, they don’t tell the whole story. Dementia doesn’t just affect individuals but touches the lives of countless families and communities. This event in º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ on Saturday is open to anyone who would like to learn more about the condition and hear about the work of Alzheimer’s Research UK.”
