University funding helps staff involved in voluntary groups
Donations were made from the Inside Out Fund, which is dedicated to supporting members of staff involved in community or voluntary organisations outside of work.
More than £4,000 was awarded as part of the Inside Out Fund. For the first time this year, the Inside Out Fund will have two rounds of funding. The second round will take place in June with a further £4,000 being allocated.

Purchase mind stimulating resources for elderly ladies group including dominoes, four in a row, magnetic darts and a massage ball |
Falcon Support Services |
Purchase two laptops for support workers at the Falcon Centre to help them with communication, research and planning projects for residents |

Support publicity costs to improve leaflets on issues around asylum seekers and refugees |
Beacon Christian Centre |
Purchase a cooker for new kitchen as part of Church extension, Church to create a new counselling centre |

The University’s Vice Chancellor, Robert Allison, presented the cheques at a ceremony last week.
Stakeholder Relations Manager, Alison Barlow, said: “We are delighted to be supporting so many worthy organisations and causes through our Inside Out Fund for another year. It’s fantastic to see so many staff members involved in voluntary projects outside of work, it’s important as a University that we acknowledge this and reward them in some way.
“We look forward to supporting more staff in our second round of donations this year.”
