From Arts to Engineering - University honours the academic excellence of students
The prestigious awards, which recognise outstanding performance in undergraduate study, were presented to the highest performing students from each academic School. Students in each year of study, with the exemption of the graduating year were honoured.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Robert Allison and Pro-Vice Chancellor for Teaching, Professor Rachel Thomson, presented twenty one students with a certificate and cheque for £500 at the dinner held in the Hazlerigg Building.
Also in attendance were the Deans and Associate Deans from each School and the Executive team from º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Students’ Union
Professor Thomson, comments: “We are delighted to celebrate the academic excellence of our undergraduate students for another year. The awards recognise all of the hard work our Scholars put in to achieve top marks in their year, whilst still combining study with a range of extra-curricular activities, and it’s important they are rewarded for this.”

The academic achievement awards are one of many presented by the, University, Schools and the Students’ Union. Others include the Sir Robert Martin Prize, º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Experience Awards, Development Trust Prizes, Graduate School Prizes, Graduate School Research Student Prizes and various sponsored awards in Schools.
