Quiz your General Election candidates at University hustings
º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ’s five General Election candidates will be visiting the University on April 28 to take part in a live hustings event.
The debate has been organised by º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Students’ Union and the Department of Politics, History and International Relations, providing audience members with an opportunity to quiz the candidates about their policies and pledges.
It is being held in the Students’ Union and starts at 6.30pm. Taking part in the hustings will be:
- Steve Coltman (Liberal Democrats)
- Nicky Morgan (Conservative)
- Matthew O'Callaghan (Labour)
- Bill Piper (UKIP)
- Matt Sisson (Green)
After a five minute statement from each candidate – in alphabetical order by surname – the candidates will be asked questions sent before and during the event via Twitter, and members of the audience will have the opportunity to react and pose further questions. The discussion will be rounded off by two minute statements from each candidate – in reverse alphabetical order.
Speaking about the event Dr David Berry, head of the Department of Politics, History and International Relations, said: “This promises to be a very interesting debate and will give people the opportunity to put their own questions to those who want to represent them. All are welcome.”
LSU Media will be broadcasting the event live via media.lsu.co.uk. Please start sending your questions now via Twitter using #BubbleDebate.
