Two business awards for º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Science and Enterprise Park companies
Two companies from º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Science and Enterprise Parks (LUSEP) Innovation Centre have scooped Leicester Mercury Business Awards.
The Leicester Mercury Business Awards recognise the achievement of innovative companies in Leicestershire that are boosting the local economy.
The Excellence in Science & Technology Awardwent toCommAgility, Queen’s Award for Enterprise winner and leading developer of technology products for the latest 4G and 5G mobile communications. The company’s client base is truly global, with customers in over 15 countries including the USA, China, South Korea, India, France and Israel. CommAgility has been supported by LUSEP’s Innovation Centre since it was founded in 2006, and a number of º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ graduates make up its skilled engineering team.
New Business of the Year went to Segura Systems, whose unique cloud-based supply chain technology supports transparent and ethical sourcing. Founded in 2011, Segura has built up an outstanding track record with major clothing brands. Since its relocation to LUSEP in 2013, Segura has partnered the University’s construction management experts to create a supply chain software solution to support ethical sourcing within the construction sector.
CommAgility and Segura were selected from over 200 companies, to be presented with their awards at Leicester’s Platinum Suite. Their honours are the latest in a string of successes for LUSEP companies at the Leicester Mercury Business Awards. Intelligent Energy, the global power technology company founded on º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ research, also won Company of the Year in 2013.
Professor Steve Rothberg, º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Pro Vice-Chancellor for Enterprise, said: “These are well-deserved accolades for CommAgility and Segura, and many congratulations to them.” He continued: “As we look forward to opening our new Innovation Centre in the autumn, I am proud of how our Science and Enterprise Parks have once again proved to be a base from which new businesses can innovate and grow.”
