º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ graduate’s anthology now available from Amazon
º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ graduate company The Student Wordsmith’s first anthology – You is for University – is now available to buy via Amazon – with the launch of the e-book to follow later this autumn.
The anthology written by students for students – and issued by º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ’s unique student-led publishing house, Lamplight Press – offers a perfect A-to-Z of university life – making it ideal reading for Freshers and current – not to mention, former – students alike.
Sales of the limited first edition were brisk, and reviews of the publication have been very positive.
Sophie-Louise Hyde – who launched The Student Wordsmith in 2013 with the support of the University’s graduate business incubator, the Studio – is hoping that offering the collection via Amazon will make the innovative guide easier for people to find, widening its readership internationally.
Contributions to the collection – forty creative works from students and graduates worldwide – were invited via a competition – and Sophie was overwhelmed by the response.
So much so, she is preparing to launch a follow-on competition calling for submissions for a new “bigger, better, bumper” edition of the collection.
As well as publishing under The Student Wordsmith brand, Sophie is beginning to collaborate with a variety of organisations to encourage emerging creatives.
In partnership with mental health charity – StudentMinds – she recently managed a creative writing competition exploring the many facets of friendship.
The work of winning student writers Rose Walker and Lizzie Akass – two undergraduates with a love for writing and interest in mental health – and º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ graduate Aisling Lewis will be shared via the StudentMinds website and social media channels throughout October.
To help promote the competitions and wider work of The Student Wordsmith, Sophie is recruiting Student Ambassadors nationwide who will spread the word about the project, encouraging student and graduate involvement.
