A brand new podcast has been published by º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, in celebration of World Poetry Day.

Dr Oli Tearle, Dr Sarah Parker and Dr Kerry Featherstone

‘School of Poetry’ is a new show dedicated to discussing and analysing the good – and the not so good – within the world of poetry.

Dr Oli Tearle, an author and Lecturer of English at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, is hosting the show which is currently live and available from iTunes, as well as the Apple Podcast app.

With fresh poems and new themes to discuss in each episode, Dr Oli Tearle and guest academics will bring their knowledge and expertise to this fun, yet educational, podcast.

The first episode centres on the theme of ‘spring’, and features guests Dr Sarah Parker, a fellow Lecturer in English at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, and Dr Kerry Featherstone, Lecturer in Creative Writing at the University and poet in residence at Bradgate Park.

Dr Oli Tearle comments:

“We’re thrilled to be launching this new podcast celebrating the exciting, inspiring, and often very funny world of poetry.

“We hope you’ll listen in for classic spring poetry, some surprising Leicestershire poems - both old and new - and to find out when you should read verse aloud to your cat…”
