Eddie Jones among speakers at Foundation for Leadership through Sport Conference

Friday 15th September saw the Foundation for Leadership through Sport Conference take place at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ’s London campus, with England Rugby Head Coach Eddie Jones one of the keynote speakers.

The conference brought together leading figures in sport, business and the military for an insightful session, which included panel debates and interactive discussions into leadership and management excellence.

2017’s theme was ‘Sustaining Success - Challenging from the Front’ and saw the likes of Jones, GB Women’s Hockey Head Coach and º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ alumnus Danny Kerry and Jessica Ennis-Hill’s coach Toni Minichiello involved.

Talking from an athlete’s point of view, it was also great to get an insight from Olympic hockey gold medallist Kate Richardson-Walsh, as well as England captain and º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Lightning Rugby Player-Coach Sarah Hunter.

John Steele, Executive Director of Sport at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ chaired the session with Eddie Jones and the Coaches Panel, commenting:

"Having coaches and sport leaders of this quality on campus builds on our reputation for hosting world class events, and was a great learning opportunity for everyone present."

The Foundation for Leadership through Sport is the brainchild of º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ alumnus Bob Reeves and aims to encourage and facilitate athletes and sporting organisations to invest in leadership development. This includes National Governing Bodies for Sport, universities and clubs.
