Remembrance memorial at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ campus
º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ and º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Students’ Union have joined forces to create a memorial on campus to honour those who have lost their lives serving their country.
The structure, which is located on the Hazlerigg-Rutland Lawn, is being showcased ahead of Remembrance Day on Wednesday 11 November. It has been created in conjunction with the Royal British Legion and the aim is for the lawn to become a field of poppies creating a true mark of respect for fallen war heroes.
For a donation of £5, you are invited to add a personal tribute to help create a spectacular field of remembrance. Poppies will be displayed in the lead up to Remembrance Day 2015. All monies raised at the University and through Rag will be sent to The Royal British Legion after the appeal has finished.
On the anniversary of the end of the First World War, we remember those who fought in wars and the British Servicemen and women killed or injured since 1945. The project has taken its inspiration from the field of poppies that was on display at the Tower of London last year.
