IMPART project host masterclass for delegates on successful funding bids

IMPART, the East Midlands Intelligent Mobility Partnership, is hosting a Horizon 2020 masterclass to teach delegates about successful funding bids next month.

The IMPART project, which º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ is a part of, is sharing their skills to help delegates realise the potential of Horizon 2020 funding and will also provide practical advice workshops from industry specialists on how to write a successful bid.

IMPART formed last year after º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ was awarded a contract to support the Transport Systems Catapult’s work alongside Nottingham Trent, De Montfort and Coventry University.  The project, led by º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, is aiming to promote research and business innovation in the area of Intelligent Mobility.

Next month’s masterclass will also help attendees understand what evaluators are looking for and give them advanced insight into transport calls going live in 2015. A question and answer session with the transport national contact from Innovate UK, Louise Mothersole, will also take place.

Attendees will understand the competitive application process and what it takes to be able to build a strong consortium and increase the chances of success.

Academic lead of the project, Professor Pete Thomas, from º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Design School, said:  “The UK academic sector is the most successful group in securing European funding but many researchers and business partners are still put off by the apparent complexity of the proposal process and level of competition. Nevertheless the benefits of H2020 funding can be great.

“This all day workshop is an opportunity for all researchers and industry groups from any organisation to review the research topics in the next H2020 Transport call which will open in September in order to start planning possible proposals.

“Experienced H2020 researchers and proposal evaluators will be on hand to offer practical tips and advice to provide delegates with the confidence to tackle these exciting opportunities.”

The event takes place on Wednesday 1 July at Burleigh Court, º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, LE11 3GR and will run from 10am – 4 pm. It is free to attend but registration is required.
