Community groups across Charnwood are being offered the chance to make a bid for up to £750 from º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ’s Community Donations Fund.

The University has once again made £10,000 available this year for its Open Fund and is welcoming bids for all types of projects from non-political organisations/groups.

The Open Fund is one of four rounds of funding made available by the University. Traditionally allocated during the spring term, it is a fund offering significant flexibility for organisations in need of financial support as it has few bidding criteria attached to it.

In the past, the Open Fund has supported everything from a scouts’ summer camp to funding an annual outing for people with learning difficulties and purchasing bingo equipment for a social club. More than £170,000 has been handed out since the Community Donations Fund was launched in the 2008/09 academic year.

Alison Barlow, Stakeholder Relations Manager for the University, said: “You can never have enough community spirit, so why not speak up for Charnwood’s local unsung projects and activities by getting in touch with us to see if you could be in with a chance of receiving a funding boost.”

Bids should be submitted by Friday 13 March 2015. For more information and to download an application form, visit here. Alternatively, contact Alison Barlow, Stakeholder Relations Manager, on 01509 228696 or email a.j.barlow@lboro.ac.uk.
