º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ graduate company Zone3 set for global expansion in 2014
º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ graduate company Zone3 has announced that they will be venturing into overseas markets in 2014.
This will see the company selling its products in over 15 companies worldwide – partnering with some of the best retailers in the world.
Founder James Lock first realised the potential for a British triathlon brand whilst studying Architectural Engineering and Design Management at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ. Being an elite triathlete himself, James identified a gap in the market for a high performance, better fitting product that would help improve speed and comfort. This led him to conduct two years’ research before launching Zone3 in 2009.
James said: “For me Zone3 was never about trying to grow as quickly as possible in the shortest space of time. We wanted to make sure that every product was as good as it could possibly be before expanding further. After five years of top industry reviews and thousands of happy customers, we feel 2014 is the right time to allow retailers across the globe to have access to our range."
Having developed the leading triathlon brand in the UK, James intends to maintain the same philosophy through relationships with his customers – both retailers and individuals. Using this same strategy Zone3 aims to be the world-leading triathlon brand by 2016.
James added: “The philosophy of the company has always been to grow organically and really value our retail partners. These guys are the foundation of the business and without them we wouldn’t have been able to establish ourselves as the number one selling brand in the UK."
Zone3 has had a lot of interaction with grass roots, attending club sessions and events to create a large and loyal customer-base.
James said: “We are a grass roots led company and do our utmost to work with the triathlon community. Our vision is to replicate this model worldwide, allowing as many people as possible to benefit from our products.”
Whilst international success beckons and new markets are set to be seized upon, it’s clear that Zone3 have their feet firmly on the ground.
James Lock is featured in the University’s Inspiring Graduates campaign which hopes to inspire students and graduates to follow their dreams.
