º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ – supporting regional recruitment

Graduates in Business Matt Symonds with Mazvita Mukarakate

When looking to recruit a high-calibre graduate, East Midlands-based business consultancy TBAT Innovation turned to the Graduates in Business programme managed by º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ.

The £1.5m initiative – supported by the European Regional Development Fund – provides an efficient, low-risk way for companies to take on a graduate, offering a no-cost, tailored recruitment service together with grant funding to help meet some of the employment costs.

TBAT Innovation – specialists in helping clients to access R&D funding – has recruited University of Leicester Masters graduate Mazvita Mukarakate to strengthen its bioscience and healthcare team.

Matt Symonds, director at TBAT Innovation says: “We are committed to growing our business through recruiting very focused and driven employees with the necessary skills and attitude to assist our clients.”

As well as helping regional companies to develop, the scheme is a great way for recent graduates to hone a variety of skills and gain valuable experience.

As Mazvita observes: “TBAT Innovation offers me a route into a career that will keep me motivated, interested and challenged.”

Indeed, the majority of the graduates who have found placements through the scheme have been offered permanent positions.

Catherine Allford, the scheme’s Project Manager, said: “Graduates in Business makes it easier for regional companies to access the expertise available from their local university whilst helping graduates to secure that all-important first job. I am delighted that the scheme has already supported so many companies and graduates across the East Midlands.”
