AACSB accreditation reinforces º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ’s reputation for business education excellence
º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ’s School of Business and Economics has achieved accreditation from The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International), placing it among the 1% of business schools worldwide with triple accreditation.
This latest accolade means that º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ is now among just 16 UK business schools to be triple-accredited from all three major international accrediting bodies; with AACSB accreditation adding to its EQUIS accreditation (from the European Foundation for Management Development) and AMBA accreditation (from the Association of MBAs) for its renowned MBA programmes. AACSB accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in business education, and has been earned by less than five percent of the world's 15,000 business programmes.
Achieving accreditation is a process of rigorous internal review, evaluation, and improvement, and can take several years to complete. The AACSB’s stringent accreditation standards require a high quality teaching environment, innovative programming, and active engagement with industry. All accredited schools must undertake a peer review process every five years to retain their accreditation.
Dean of the School of Business and Economics Professor Angus Laing said:
“AACSB accreditation assures students, parents and corporate clients that we provide top-quality education and research, and produce graduates are ready to perform in today’s demanding global business environment.
“The global recognition that AACSB accreditation brings will help us continue to recruit the very best students and staff, as well as open up further impressive research opportunities for the future.”
Executive Vice President and Chief Accreditation Officer of AACSB International Robert D. Reid said:
"AACSB accreditation represents the highest achievement for an educational institution that awards business degrees. It takes a great deal of self-evaluation and determination to earn AACSB accreditation, and I commend º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ for its dedication to management education, as well as its leadership in the community.
"Through accreditation, º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ has not only met specific standards of excellence, but has also made a commitment to ongoing improvement to ensure that the institution will continue to deliver high quality education to its students.”
