School of Business and Economics secures Triple Crown accreditation with EQUIS
The School of Business and Economics has been re-accredited by EQUIS – the leading international system of quality assessment, improvement and accreditation of higher education institutions in management and business administration – for a further three years.
EQUIS is run by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) and its fundamental objective, linked to the mission of the EFMD, is to raise the standard of management education worldwide.
Professor Angus Laing, Dean of the University’s School of Business and Economics, said: “We, as a School, are very proud of our ‘triple crown’ accreditation, which places us in a very elite group of world-class business schools around the world.
“Being re-accredited by EQUIS confirms the importance we place on innovation, knowledge creation and a global perspective, and how serving the needs of students, business and society – regionally, nationally and globally – lies at the heart of our School.
“As one of the first business schools to have a year’s professional placement as part of our undergraduate degrees, we have developed resilient, long-standing partnerships with businesses both at home and around the world, and those partnerships live at the centre of who are as a School. EQUIS re-accreditation cements the School’s relevance in today’s fast-changing, global business environment.”
Professor Michael Osbaldeston, the EFMD Director of Quality Services, said: “I would like to congratulate the schools that have gone through the reaccreditation process. If you are a student, parent, recruiter or have an interest in business education then the first and most important credential to look for in a school is does it have accreditation from EFMD.”
In the EQUIS re-accreditation report issued by the EFMD, they highlighted particular strengths of the School as their outstanding student experience and corporate connections.
