Sara's expertise is in seventeenth-century culture and literature. She specialises in women's reproductive health and medicine in early modern popular culture. She can speak on historical attitudes to menstruation, miscarriage, menopause, adolescence, pregnancy, and religion. She is also a historical novelist. She has appeared on tv such as BBC Countryfile and radio such as Women's Hour and Free Thinking. She writes for the press and history magazines about a range of topics connected to her research.
