Dr Prajapati's research involves tackling social, environmental and sustainability issues through the strategic use of design to bring about positive transformation.
Her research is dynamic and wide-ranging spanning the breadth of the textile discipline. She has studied the design potential offered by enzymes produced by microorganisms such as fungi, replicated biological processes found in nature to produce textile dyes, and deconstructed textile fibres to create new and interesting materials.
Her current research explores how enzymes can be used to separate different textile components from waste to extract valuable resources that can be used to create new circular textile materials and products.
