Profile
Dr Michelle Richey is a Senior Lecturer in Technology and Entrepreneurship at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Business School. Her research, teaching and practice focus on using entrepreneurship and technology to empower typically marginalised groups and bring about meaningful positive change.
She is the Working Group Chair and interim coordinator of the Refugee Entrepreneurship Network; a network of refugee support organizations in 30+ countries. She leads national and international funded research projects focused on refugee entrepreneurship interventions. She also supports cross sectoral social good collaborations, with partners including The Human Safety Net (Generali), eBay, Ben N Jerry’s, Global Entrepreneurship Network, Centre for Entrepreneurs, The Entrepreneurial Refugee Network and HMP Belmarsh. She is a co-founder of the Engaged Scholarship Community of Interest, part of the International Small Business and Entrepreneurship Conference.
Her findings have been published in leading peer-reviewed journals, including Information Systems Journal, International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behaviour and Research, Technological Forecasting and Social Change and Information Technology and People. She is an experienced, well-received teacher and facilitator, designing courses for university students at all levels and creating professional development materials for social impact creation and measurement in the development sector.
