Dr Goran Vladisavljevic
Senior Lecturer in Chemical Engineering
Areas of expertise
Fabrication and manipulation of microparticles and nanoparticles in microfluidic devices; Liposomes and micelles; Microgels; Microencapsulation; Micromixing and flow chemistry; Formulation science; Polymer synthesis (molecularly imprinted polymers, photopolymerisation, suspension and bulk polymerisation, electrospinning), Healthcare engineering (drug-eluting balloon catheters, controlled drug release, antimicrobial resistance); Energy and environment (phase change materials, carbon capture, biodiesel production, membrane separations).
Profile
Goran’s research is focused on the development and manufacturing of smart functional micro and nanoparticles.
His work focuses on micro and nanoparticles for advanced applications in healthcare engineering, environmental engineering, molecular biology, and chemistry using microfluidic and membrane emulsification devices.
His research group exploits physicochemical and chemical processes/phenomena such as internal phase separation, free-radical polymerisation, nanoprecipitation, crystallisation, ionic crosslinking, and molecular imprinting to tailor composition, morphology and microstructure of fabricated materials.
