Professor Duncan Walker
Professor of Applied Aerodynamics
Areas of expertise
Gas turbine aerodynamics, combustion system aerodynamics, fuel injector flows, compressor transition ducts, installation aerodynamics, bicycle aerodynamics, experimental fluid mechanics, computational fluid dynamics
Profile
Duncan’s expertise lies in applied aerodynamics using both experimental and computational techniques to reduce emissions and pollution in aircraft engines. His research has a particular focus on the study of the flows within modern aircraft gas turbines (jet engines). Using his aerodynamic experience, Duncan also undertakes research in ground vehicle aerodynamics and bicycle and rider aerodynamics in elite road racing.
