Dr Borja Garc铆a

An expert in sport governance and policy with a focus on European law and European Union sport policy, Dr Borja García has two major areas of research expertise. The first one is the regulation of sport through the application of European Union law and European Union sport policy. The second one would be broadly defined as the governance of sport. Dr García is specially interested in the relations between public authorities, National Olympic Committees, and national and international sport federations. He has also developed expertise in the regulation of football, especially the Premier League, European leagues and UEFA competitions. Dr. García is interested in finding out about the nature of the relations between governmental and non-governmental actors in sports governance, especially at the supranational level with a focus on the case of football and the roles of UEFA and EU institutions.
