I have the opportunity to attend seminars and conferences, which enables me to network with people doing similar work all over the world.

Please describe your research?

I produce drug nanoparticles using laboratory-fabricated microfluidic devices. The drug nanoparticles produced are then encapsulated to ensure they are released at specific rates to the desired site in the body. Nanoparticles can be used in the treatment of various diseases that require targeted delivery of the drugs of cells in the body.

What did you do before your PhD?

Master's Degree in Advanced Chemical Engineering at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ.

Please tell us why you decided to come to º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ?

The quality of research done at the University and the excellent facilities to aid my research.

What stands out about your experience so far?

The facilities for my research are of top quality. I have the unique opportunity to volunteer as a laboratory demonstrator to undergraduates, where I get to pass on some of my experience to the students to help out with their laboratory experiences. I also have the opportunity to attend seminars and conferences, which enables me to network with people doing similar work all over the world.

Please tell us about any specific support from your department?

Very friendly support from everyone, especially with my laboratory experiments from technicians, as I tend to work on innovative projects.

What are your plans for the future?

I am considering staying in research after my studies, but also opened to other options such as academia, based on my teaching experience so far.

How do you think your research will help you achieve these ambitions?

I believe the quality of research, experience and exposure will put me in good stead to achieve this aim.
