These include research collaborations with the University of Malaya, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Universiti Sains Malaysia and Universiti Putra Malaysia. These connections demonstrate our commitment and international reputation.

Students who have studied here have gone on to do great things

Further to this, every year we are proud to welcome many MARA and JPA scholars to our campus. Our Malaysian students continue to be successful after they leave º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, and our alumni go on to work in a variety of industries in both the UK and Malaysia, as well as around the world. Companies our alumni currently work for include the National Sports Council of Malaysia, HSBC, MARA University of Technology, Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Petronas, in a wide range of positions such as Managing Director, Project Engineer, Commercial Manager, Diplomat and Environment Executive. We are also proud of a whole host of famous alumni, including Dato Peter Velappan, who served as General Secretary of the Asian Football Confederation from 1978 to 2007.

We have two amazing campuses, in two different locations in the UK

We have two campuses, one located in º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ in the very heart of the UK and our exclusive postgraduate campus located in London, the capital city of England. Our º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ campus is currently home to about 100 Malaysian students across a wide range of subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate study levels, and we love welcoming more students to campus.

We travel to Malaysia regularly throughout the year, so if you want to speak to us in person you can do.

Supporting you every step of the way

We understand how important receiving the right support at the right time can be, which is why we offer a wide range of support services. So whether you need help with your visa application, or you need additional academic support throughout your studies to reach your full potential or you need help once you’ve graduated to find the right career – we can help.

Student experience

Your time at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ will be an extraordinary journey, from the moment the Global Engagement team pick you up from Heathrow Airport and drop you at your accommodation door to the moment you shake hands with our Vice Chancellor at your graduation. º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ offers Malaysian students a one in a lifetime opportunity to immerse yourself in our award winning student experience.

When asked about life at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, our current Malaysians have described it as entertaining, fun, unforgettable and even better than they imagined! It can be intimidating to leave your friends, family and the country you grew up in, but the campus at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ provides a warm and close-knit community which makes settling in much more comfortable.

Most of our undergraduate students and many of our postgraduate students choose to live in the university accommodation on campus. Here, you will be mixed with both international and UK students. The hall committees organise a range of activities to help you settle in and meet your new flatmates, not just during freshers week but throughout the year.

The Students Union (SU) plays a large part in the lives of many Malaysian students. The SU has a media centre, the largest charity section in the country, and over 100 different societies to get involved in, including the Malaysian Students Society. Providing a home away from home for all Malaysians, the Malaysian society arranges and attends a variety of events every year, from day trips across the country, activity days, sports tournaments and the º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Students Union international day, to weekly Badminton and Basketball sessions. The Society also organise cultural activities and festival celebrations, including events for Eid Al-Fitr, Chinese New Year, Divali, Vaisaki and National Day, as well as regular cultural nights with home cooked Malaysian food. The most recent event featured delicious Mee Siam and traditional chicken curries. For more information, or to ask any questions about being a Malaysian in º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, please contact the committee on msslboro@gmail.com.

Sports also plays a large part in life at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ – whether it’s joining one of the sports clubs and playing competitively, going along to free recreational sports sessions or just watching some of the matches on campus, the infectious sporting spirit is hard not to get caught up in even for the least sporty people!

International Day

Students at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ celebrate international day.

Culture and community

There is a real sense of community and family at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, and our Faith and Spirituality Centre provides a peaceful place for our students to come and reflect, explore and express their faith and spirituality. It’s a place for you to pray, meditate and to meet others. You’ll find that both our London and º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ campuses are very inclusive.

As well as dedicated prayer spaces on campus, º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ town centre is home to the º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Mosque and Islamic Cultural Association centre. There are Halal food provisions across the campus and town, including a choice of restaurants and grocery stores. The º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Students Union Islamic Society also provides an environment for Muslim students which fosters a sense of community and belonging, including offering pastoral support, weekly discussion circles, and festival celebrations.

Food outlets

Although º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ may only be a town and not a city, there is a huge variety of restaurants and food shops on both the campus and in the town, and our current Malaysian students have highlighted some of their favourites below.

Most Asian food can be bought from the Oriental Store in town (located opposite the Rushers bus stop), a there is also an aisle in Tesco with the name of “World Foods” which you can go to stock up on food such as cooking-sauces and rice. It is also rather simple to buy through online oriental stores as some may provide next-day delivery right to your doorstep!

There are also Halal butchers in º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, and Halal food can also be sources in the supermarkets in town. In catered halls we are able to offer Halal meats as part of our food service. Halal meats are available from our approved suppliers and are certificated for identification. Those observing Ramadan can also contact their hall managers who will help with specific meal requirements.
