Dr Sarah Wappat
I’m the Laboratory Manager in Geography and Environment. My research areas have focused on various aspects of soil science and ecology including the characterisation of anaerobic digestion wastes and biochar for use as biofertilisers, the monitoring of farm and regional scale effects of cattle worming drugs and the effect of microbial diversity and plant roots on soil structural development.
I have always had a passion for science and in particular the environment from an early age. My career and enthusiasm for science has been driven by the idea of being able to question and explore why things happen, problem solve and gather new understanding about the environment that we live in.
A compass clinometer is present in the picture as it is a must have tool for anyone working in the field of Geography and Environment for field surveying, mapping or navigational use.
