Winner: Recreational Sport Team

The Recreational Sport Team have excelled in delivering a positive student experience through sport this year, which has been highlighted on a national stage, as in December the University was awarded the 2022-24 BUCS and UK Active Physical Activity Excellence Award.

Through the efforts of the Recreational Sport Team, the development of a sporting pathway at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ has advanced so that the University now offers a comprehensive offer for all students. The fact that such a comprehensive pathway exists has led to us receiving a NPS of over 70% this year which evidences the success of the Recreational Sport Team in providing an alternative sporting offer.

CVA (Coach Volunteer Academy)

The º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Sport Coach & Volunteer Academy (CVA) Team are instrumental in providing sector leading and unique applied practice opportunities for students within sport, exercise, and health, which results in a significant number of students employment within the sports industry.

The CVA Impact Report for 2021-2022 highlights the fact that 61,975 hours were logged on the CVA Portal by 637 CVA volunteers across the academic year. Already in 2022-2023, to date, 67,666 hours have been logged, meaning that by the end of the academic year the CVA will have surpassed any previous year’s milestones.
