This has enabled, staff without directly relevant experience, but who has potential to be promoted and be given additional responsibilities.
Overall, Deborah’s contribution to º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, specifically º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ London has been immensely helped increase the vibrancy of staff and student body.
Nominees
Careers Network: Diversity and Inclusion Team
The Diversity and Inclusion Team’s work on our Black Talent Programme has made a significant difference to the number of our Black African and Caribbean students successfully progressing onto and completing a year-long work placement during their studies.
A particular highlight of 2022-23 was the team's in-person launch event for the Black Talent Programme. The event brought together 100 Black African and Caribbean students in West Park Teaching Hub to celebrate their heritage as part of our vibrant and inclusive community at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ.
Pat Storer
I am nominating Pat for her role in enhancing the staff wellbeing and experience. As well as her line management responsibilities, Pat is one of our mental health First Aiders but has been doing the role since long before it was invented.
Pat knows all our staff well, understands the pressures that they are under and cares deeply about their wellbeing. She is proactive in bringing problems to senior management before they happen and helping us to address workload or other issues before they reach boiling point.
Meredith Coney
Meredith has made an exceptional contribution to EDI and has firmly put EDI as an important focus in the School. I value Meredith’s insight and knowledge of EDI and they can be relied upon to highlight the EDI considerations in issues and more importantly come up with great solutions.
Meredith is passionate about all aspects of EDI and ensuring all voices are heard and regularly goes above and beyond to support others. I am constantly in awe of what Meredith contributes to the School and the University.
