Support for staff and students at the University
º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ is a plural and international university, with colleagues and students from 130 countries across the world.
Our Ukrainian students and colleagues are at the very forefront of our thoughts. We know you are deeply worried for your loved ones at home and elsewhere. We also offer our support to our Russian colleagues and students at the University. This is Putin's invasion and not the Russian people's.
For those in our community who are feeling worried, distressed and upset about the war in Ukraine, the University is here to help.
Student Services
Student Services offer a range of support, including mental health and wellbeing, and advice specifically for international students, such as financial issues (including financial hardship) and student visa and immigration matters. The University has recently received additional funding from the Office for Students to support students from Ukraine in financial hardship, and Student Services is proactively contacting all Ukrainian students to discuss their financial circumstances as well as recent changes to Student Funding arrangements for 2022/23. For an appointment please email studentservices@lboro.ac.uk, call 01509 222765, or request an appointment online for financial, visa and housing advice. For wellbeing support, you can request an appointment online through the wellbeing appointment referral form.
º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ London
Support for º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ London students is also available by emailing London-Welfare@lboro.ac.uk or calling 020 3805 1303/1351
Staff Counselling Service
The Staff Counselling Service is available to all University employees, giving you the opportunity to talk confidentially to a professionally trained person who is outside your immediate situation. Colleagues can also access support through our Employee Assistance Programme, as well as our Mental Health First Aiders.
The University Chaplaincy
The University Chaplaincy (Email: chaplaincy@lboro.ac.uk, Tel: 01509 223741) also offers staff and students a space for reflection and has chaplains of various faiths. If you have family or friends that are travelling to the UK who need help and support please can you send their details to chaplaincy@lboro.ac.uk and we will seek to help them match with a sponsoring family in º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ who are willing to offer accommodation.
