Copyright

Understanding how to re-use content created by other people legally and fairly can be confusing and overwhelming. Below are some helpful tips and resources to help you ensure that you are re-using content appropriately.

Learning on Demand (BoB)

Learning on Demand (BoB) is a shared online TV and radio recording service for UK higher and further education institutions.

Within Learning on Demand (BoB), you can build playlists, edit clips and request recordings for shows which haven’t yet aired in the ‘Guide’ section or search for suitable footage in BoB’s archives to illustrate a subject.

You can set up an account for BoB - please refer to the Learning on Demand (BoB) guide for instructions.

Creative Commons

Creative Commons is a useful source for finding images, articles and other content you can share, re-use and remix.

Creative Commons Licensing allows both authors (owners) and users to access and share material for free. This licensing has international scope and generally works on attributions to the given author for any material. Licenses are indicated through icons.

To learn more about the types of licence, both for re-using the work or others and allowing re-use of your own work, watch this video.

University Resources

There are useful resources and guidance available through the University.

The Library Copyright Guidance

The library Copyright Guidance page offers copyright advice for re-using a wide range of different media types and suggestions of places where you can search for materials.

Creative and Print services Image Bank

This Image Bank is created and maintained by the print services team so images are bespoke to the University and depict real º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ students and staff.
