Institute of Advanced Studies announces new International House with opening event
The University’s Institute of Advanced Studies (IAS) will open its new location on campus, International House, on Tuesday 5 March.
An open house event will take place between 12pm-3pm with Vice-Chancellor Professor Robert Allison cutting the ribbon at 12:30pm. Colleagues are welcome to drop in or stay for the duration, with refreshments served throughout. It will be an excellent opportunity to network with past, present and future IAS theme leads and find out how you can be involved.
The Institute of Advanced Studies builds on a long-established record of international research collaboration across every field and discipline in the University. Enhancing both established and emergent research partnerships and projects, the IAS Annual Themes and Open Programme have brought more than 110 international fellows from 29 countries to º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ over the past two years.
The opening of International House (formerly the University Dining Suite, opposite Paddock Pitch) in the centre of the º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ campus represents an important and exciting new phase for the Institute, enabling it to consolidate and extend its International Visiting Fellowship programme and expand engagement with colleagues on both campuses.
Providing a space for the development of innovative ideas through dynamic debate and critical enquiry, the IAS will ensure that º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ is an international research destination that is here to stay.
