Elizabeth has a longstanding interest in understanding heterosexism, heteronormativity and (latterly) cisgenderism from feminist and critical psychological perspectives, and has conducted many research projects in the field of LGBTIQ psychology. She is a co-investigator on the ESRC Future of Legal Gender project. She co-edits (with Elizabeth Stokoe) the Routledge ‘Gender and Sexualities in Psychology’ book series. They also research chronic illness in later life, particularly dementia.
