Race equity
º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ is committed to tackling racism and being an anti-racist organisation. To help facilitate the progress, the University signed up as a member of Race Equality Charter (REC) in April 2018 and was awarded the REC Bronze Award in May 2022.
We know that becoming an institution that is free of systemic racism is a long journey, and it requires commitment and work from our entire community.
We believe everyone has a part to play in addressing race inequity, through centring the knowledge and insights of those most affected, with white colleagues and the University’s leadership team taking on specific responsibility for making progress and cultural change measurable, tangible and felt.
We want to create an environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging, and has a space to thrive, regardless of their race, ethnic background, identity, or culture.
