Research theme 3
Policy, Decision and Cost-benefit Analysis
Policy, Decision and Cost-benefit Analysis
(Improving Productivity and Performance)
The Centre further includes researchers who employ economic and management science methodologies, such as multi criteria decision analysis, discrete choice modelling, consumer theory, cost-benefit analysis, organisational behaviour, risk prioritisation and policy analysis. This expertise allows the Centre to provide sound support for managers and policy makers in their allocation of scarce resources for driving organisational performance improvements.
The Centre therefore has strong capabilities with regard to both the decision-making process and performance measurement by policy makers and managers who face multiple conflicting objective (e.g., economic versus social), and in the presence of uncertainties, such as those created by competitive forces, environmental concerns and regulatory pressures.
