Strategy, Competition and Market Performance
(Understanding and Incentivising Productivity and Performance)
The Centre also includes a group of industrial organisation and management science researchers whose research explores how complex interactions between consumers, firms and regulators affect performance and outcomes. In particular, the Centre has strong capabilities in methodologies including analytical game theory, empirical econometrics and agent-based complex systems. Such methodologies are used to model consumer behaviour, firm strategies, incentives for productivity and performance improvement, and market competitiveness.
The Centre therefore has strong capabilities in researching the underlying relationship between incentives, organisational and market design, and the resulting impact on performance, which has strategic and policy relevant applications in a variety of economic activities.
