Careers and employability

The Department of Mathematical Sciences aims to help you develop skills in logical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making, which are valued by employers across many job sectors. We also offer our students the chance to gain invaluable professional experience through our placement scheme.

Numbers really do make the world go round, so it should come to no surprise that the demand for mathematically gifted graduates is always high.

Our graduates have taken up a variety of roles, including: commercial analyst, business consultant, audit associate, data insight analyst, financial analyst, actuarial consultant, risk analyst, technology consultant. Others have gone into teaching.

Further study
