Mathematics project nominated for CALIBRE Award - Vote now!

An Equality Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI) project lead by a member of staff in Mathematical Sciences has been shortlisted for the Spring 2020 CALIBRE Awards.

Dr Eugenie Hunsicker

The theme of this round of the Awards – which recognise the excellent work undertaken across both the º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ and London campuses – is Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI).

All of the finalists are exploring specific EDI issues – either evaluating interventions, broadening impact across a wide range of beneficiaries, or promoting inclusivity within the research community or elsewhere.

The standard of entrants was exceptional, making it difficult to whittle down the long list of nominees to a shortlist of just six.

Dr Eugenie Hunsicker, senior lecturer in Mathematics and Director of Equality and Diversity for the School of Science has been nominated for her project ‘Diversity in Mathematics – A holistic approach to EDI across STEM’.

You are now invited to review the excellent shortlisted projects and vote for your favourite.

“Equality, diversity and inclusion within Higher Education rightly has a higher profile now than ever before. While we have work to do to put our own house in order, we also have a responsibility to be thought leaders and set standards for others to follow – and our shortlist shows how we are doing this.”

Voting closes at midnight on 22 March, and the winners will be announced on Wednesday 25 March at the Doctoral College EDI Showcase event, Disability Research at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ.
