Ella is a postdoctoral Research Associate working in the Centre for Early Mathematics Learning. Ella completed her PhD at the University of Sheffield in 2022 which explored how socioeconomic attainment gaps in early maths achievement emerge, with particular focus on cognitive and home learning environment factors. Following Ella’s PhD, Ella joined º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ as a postdoctoral researcher to design and test a number line game to support early numerical skills. Ella is interested in understanding how early maths skills develop, and creating interventions to support early maths skills and narrow inequalities.
Ella is a developmental psychologist interested in understanding how early maths skills emerge, and how inequalities in these skills develop. Ella is passionate about developing ways in which we can support early maths development in order to narrow inequalities before they embed and widen.
