Congratulations to Simon Drew who successfully passed his PhD viva. Simon's thesis is entitled Dyscalculia in Higher Education and presents a grounded theory study following the social model of disability and socio-cultural theory. It provided an opportunity for dyscalculic students to share their experiences of HE, mathematics and learning and explore the nature of dyscalculia and whether different categories of dyscalculic students exist.
Simon has presented his thesis work at a number of conferences, including the 8th and 9th British Dyslexia Association International Conferences, 4th European Dyslexia Association Conference (in Växjö, Sweden) and the 23rd Annual World Congress on Learning Disabilities (in Venice).
