Our research ranges from underlying mathematical theory to the practical creation and operation of networked systems.
The Department’s research continues to have a positive impact in such diverse areas as computer networks, multimedia, logistics, healthcare, the emergency services, transport, surveillance and the environment, amongst others.
Driven to carry out research with an impact, our research also supports the needs of industry and our collaborators have included BAE Systems, Toyota, Apical, Jennic, Arqiva, Sure, Sensinode and Rolls-Royce.

Humanoid Robot 'Pepper'
Department of Computer Science welcomes new humanoid robot named ‘Pepper'. Pepper, a social robot, is aimed at human robot interaction research.
Are AI robots the future of sandwich making?
Researchers to teach robots how to differentiate between sandwich ingredients. Working together with a food production automation company
