Facilities
Discover and develop your potential
Our Departmental facilities offer undergraduate, postgraduate, research students and staff an excellent environment in which to study and work.
Here at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ we are continually investing in our facilities to ensure students are provided with the best teaching and learning experience.
The Department is based in the Haslegrave building and boasts excellent facilities including:
- Five general computer laboratories (180 computers) for the exclusive use of our students and support from a team of systems specialists
- Four specialist lab facilities for student project work on robotics, networking, HCI and imaging technology
- Online access to lecture material and study resources via the University’s Virtual Learning Environment (LEARN) – available from anywhere in the world
- Study rooms and seminar rooms
Continued investment in resources has seen the opening of our new robotics lab, featuring advanced robotics equipment including a humanoid robot 'Pepper' and a pair of Aldebaran Robotics NAO robots. The lab will be used to conduct cutting edge research into robotic programming using deep learning AI techniques. The lab will be equipped with testing facilities designed to explore the future potential for robotics in society. Our newest member of the team 'Pepper' joins our existing complement of robotic equipment which includes a number of quadcoptors, and E-Pucks.
Visual Paradigm supports º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ with the use of UML tools, BPMN tools and agile story mapping tools, under the Academic Training Partnership.
