Pauline completed her degree in Applied Chemistry at Coventry Polytechnic which included a placement at the Admiralty Research Establishment developing novel materials for batteries and thermal analysis methods. After graduating she worked at G.E.Lighting for four years as an Analytical Chemist. As part of a technical service team, supporting production and research, she had particular responsibility for Inorganic analysis and environmental monitoring. She spent a brief time at Fisons Pharmaceuticals as a formulation development scientist before moving to British Gas Research as an Analytical chemist. She supported the Process Engineering department with varying analytical requirements from routine process tests to new method development with responsibility for GC, HPLC and titrimetric analysis. She also carried out a research project through º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Chemical Engineering department to optimise a gas process for which she obtained a MPhil degree. She joined º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ in 1996 as a Technician, supporting Inorganic Chemistry research. Her role has broadened to support research in the school of science wherever her skills are required.
