Background

Catherine has worked in Higher Education supporting staff and students with information literary, academic skills, and teaching for over 17 years. She has previously worked at the University of Derby as Study Coordinator, and the University of Nottingham as Teaching and Learning Librarian and Academic Skills Consultant before arriving at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ in the post of Academic Librarian in July 2023.

She was nominated for University of Derby Outstanding Member of Support Staff Award in 2017 and 2018, and was also nominated for a Staff Achievement Award for her EDI work at the University of Nottingham.

Her areas of interest include Information Literacy in Gen Z students, Decolonising Library Spaces, EDI in Academia, Academic Integrity, and Horror Film Theory.

Catherine has co-delivered conference presentations and workshops on Reducing Black/White Student Awarding Gaps Using an Institution Deficit Model.

In her spare time, Catherine spends time with family, knitting, and watching horror movies.
