Research and expertise

I have a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, majoring in Hydraulic Structure. My expertise is in numerical modelling, programming, and development, focusing on Hydraulics and Structural modelling.

I am quite familiar with FEM, FDM, FVM, and CFD in general. In the structural aspect, however, I have gained some skills in Plasticity and working with constitutive material models, as well as in-depth FEM understanding.

I have a sincere passion for learning new skills, such as Machine Learning, Statistical Analysis, Fluid-Structure Interaction, Soil-Structure Interaction, Turbulence, and High-Performance Computing.

Current Research Activity

I am currently working on rainfall-induced landslides. As landslides are already a fairly complicated subject to tackle, it seems that limiting the research to a more specific type would be reasonable. This drew some questions, such as how to model rainfall infiltration, analyze slope stability, and use a GPU-Accelerated numerical architecture for them.

Recently Completed Research Projects

My Master’s thesis title was “Evaluation of the Response of a Buried Pipeline, Subjected to a Surface Explosion”. This research was done numerically, using the FEM method (LS-DYNA), involving appropriate material models for soil, steel pipe, and contacts between soil, pipe, and water in the pipe.

Profile

I graduated with a BSc from the Sharif University of Technology in Iran in Civil Engineering, one of the most prestigious universities in Iran. I gained a Master’s from Tarbiat Modares University in Iran, majoring in Hydraulic Structures.

I participated in some research projects both during my studies and following graduation, which, because they were project-based, provided useful skills and experiences, through which I am pursuing my PhD with ABCE, here at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ.
