Research and expertise

I am a Civil Engineer with specialisation in geotechnical engineering.

My research expertise focuses on developing a novel hydro-geomechanical model for rainfall-induced shallow landslides. This involves coupling of water balance model with a mechanical model to reflect the hydrological processes that drive the changes in effective stress at critical depths to develop spatially distributed assessments of landslide-triggering processes.

Profile

I am a PhD student at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ doing a research project on slope stability.

I worked in academia for 7 years before joining º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ: I completed a BSc in Civil Engineering and a Diploma in Mining Engineering. I recently completed an MSc in Geotechnical Engineering with distinction from the University of Exeter, and I worked as a teaching assistant at the University of Rwanda (contributing to the teaching of the following modules: Soil Mechanics, Rock Mechanics, Tunnel Design Engineering, Project Management, Introduction to Mining, Surface and Underground Mining Engineering).

I have contributed to research projects addressing geotechnical issues, mainly slope stability in the mining industry, and participated in various geotechnical investigations and designs for both the construction and mining industries.
