Research and expertise
I am a PhD Researcher interested in Natural Flood Management and its impact on catchment-scale flood modelling.
I have expertise in 2D hydrodynamic flood modelling, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and geospatial mapping, field data collection methods, and epidemiology mapping. I am interested in high-resolution, high computational power flood modelling methods to represent features at very high resolutions over large catchments, as well as the use of modern data collection methods such as drone LIDAR surveying.
I also have an interest in the mapping of ambulatory data and highlighting the intersection of multiple landscape-scale indicators/factors for use in improving the understanding of the underlying vulnerability of communities.
Current research activity
- Completed a systematic literature review of Natural Flood Management modelling approaches
- Continued work in North Wales on Natural Flood Management projects and flood modelling
- Work with the EDGE consortium and the East Midlands Ambulance Service on ambulance case clustering and vulnerability mapping

- Early Career Researchers Conference 2022 – Project Manager
Profile
Before starting my PhD I completed a Geography BSc course at the University of Lincoln. During my time at Lincoln, I engaged myself with research on the Undergraduate Research and Opportunities Scheme, looking into precision agriculture, as well as doing a short period of work experience with the Environment Agency.
