Research and expertise

As a PhD researcher in transport, my focus revolves around developing comprehensive and innovative models to understand and predict the movements of bicycle traffic within urban environments. With an increasing emphasis on sustainable transportation options, cycling has emerged as a vital component of urban mobility systems.

The primary objective of my research is to create robust and data-driven models that capture the complexities of bicycle traffic behaviour. By harnessing advanced data analytics, machine learning techniques, and urban planning principles, my work aims to shed light on critical factors influencing the dynamics of bicycle movement.

Through the integration of real-time data collection, such as GPS traces and sensor data, my research seeks to build dynamic models that can adapt to changing conditions and help optimize bicycle infrastructure and policies. By enhancing the accuracy of these models, city planners, transportation authorities, and policymakers can make informed decisions to improve bicycle infrastructure, promote cycling, and ultimately foster sustainable urban mobility.

The outcomes of this research endeavor hold the potential to revolutionize urban planning and transportation policies, making cities more bike-friendly, reducing traffic congestion, improving air quality, and promoting healthier and more active lifestyles for urban dwellers. By contributing to the advancement of knowledge in this field, my work endeavors to pave the way for greener and more sustainable cities of the future, where bicycle traffic plays a central role in shaping the transportation landscape.
